Northwood is one of the oldest, largest and most popular villages in Irvine. It is located in the northern part of Irvine, northwest of Woodbury, and South of the Santa Ana Mountains. Unlike most homes throughout Irvine, many Northwood homes come without HOA fees. House prices are also reasonable, ranging from $300,000 to just past $1 million.
Most homes in Northwood were built in the late 1970s and have been very well maintained, making for an attractive combination of characterful houses with upgraded features. Most of the houses are single-family homes with large lots, though there are also condos and townhomes available. The streets are lined with Eucalyptus trees and most streets terminate in a cul-de-sac, giving residents a sense of peace and privacy.
Northwood is home to an impressive amount of parkland, including the community’s favorite park, Northwood community park, affectionately dubbed “castle park” by local children who love to play on the giant cinder block castle playground. Northwood is in the Irvine Unified school district, which is rated 10/10 on greatschools.org. It is also an exceptionally safe neighborhood.
